Chick-fil-A is officially launching its highly anticipated Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches on nationwide menus starting August 24, 2026, alongside two new S’mores-flavored beverages. The fast-food giant confirmed the limited-time autumn rollout on Wednesday, bringing a sweet and savory staple to its massive American fan base.
The news came after a highly successful limited-time test run at select locations in 2025. Before this latest update, the chain spent months monitoring consumer enthusiasm in regional test markets. For context, the brand has spent the year leaning heavily into nostalgic flavor profiles to celebrate its founding.
Now, fast-food lovers across the country can finally taste the creation. The company designed the new lineup to satisfy cravings at any time of day, but they are shaking up the sizes.
Two Distinct Sizes for the Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches Rollout
The chain will split the availability of the Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches into two distinct daytime windows. During standard breakfast hours, which run from opening until 10:30 a.m., customers can buy a smaller breakfast version. After 10:30 a.m. and until closing, locations will serve a larger entrée version for lunch and dinner crowds.
Both sizes feature maple-flavored waffles, three strips of applewood smoked bacon, honey butter spread, and a side of syrup. The center of the sandwich holds a classic Chick-fil-A chicken filet. Customers can customize their order by choosing between an original, spicy, or grilled filet.
Is a sugary waffle paired with a spicy chicken filet the ultimate breakfast combination? It certainly sounds wild, but the initial test markets went absolutely mad for it.
To wash down all that maple syrup, the chain is introducing the S’mores Milkshake and the S’mores Frosted Coffee. Workers will blend the milkshake using the signature Icedream dessert, chocolate shortbread crumbles, graham cracker pieces, marshmallow-flavored syrup, and a marshmallow-flavored whipped topping. The frosted coffee combines cold-brewed coffee with the same marshmallow syrup, Icedream, and chocolate shortbread crumbles.
Nostalgia Marketing Drives the Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches Release
The autumn menu launch serves as a major pillar of a much larger corporate milestone. Company records show the fall items are part of a yearlong “Newstalgia” campaign marking the 80th anniversary of Chick-fil-A.
Allison Duncan, director of menu and packaging for the company, stated that both menu concepts are much-loved classics. Duncan explained that the culinary team challenged themselves to bring those flavors to the public in a playful way. After seeing the incredible response from guests in test markets, the company could not wait to share the stuff nationwide.
So far, the 80th-anniversary push has resulted in refreshed packaging, exclusive merchandise, and the revival of Cow Appreciation Day. It also brought the permanent addition of Frosted Sodas and Floats to the menu. Earlier this year, the company added a Mac & Cheese Kids’ Meal to national menus, making the side item a standalone entrée for children for the first time.
The Atlanta-based chain has grown significantly since S. Truett Cathy founded the business in 1946. It remains a family-owned and privately held entity.
According to corporate data, Chick-fil-A now operates as the third-largest quick-service restaurant company in the United States. The brand boasts more than 3,000 locations spread across the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, the U.K., and Singapore.
Fans should probably head to the drive-thru early on August 24. Limited-time items this hyped tend to cause absolute chaos, and nobody wants to miss out on the sugary madness.
